I will not make fun of Bloomberg’s physical height. Nay.
I will, however, Denounce Bloomberg’s smallness of Soul.
He has been, and continues to be, an Opportunist of the Worst kind.
Over at The Other McCain, Stacy McCain looks at the latest Pander of this Political Pimp.
Stacy quotes from a report by Mike Brest in The Washington Examiner:
Newly uncovered audio of 2020 presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg depicts the former New York City mayor defending the controversial stop-and-frisk policy, which he enacted while in office.
The 2015 recording comes from a speaking event Bloomberg attended at the Aspen Institute, during which he acknowledged that the policy disproportionately affected minorities and defended it.
“Ninety-five percent of your murders, murderers and murder victims, fit one M.O. You can just take the description, Xerox it, and pass it out to all the cops,” Bloomberg said. “They are male, minorities, 16 to 25. That’s true in New York, that’s true in virtually every city. And that’s where the real crime is. You’ve got to get the guns out of the hands of people that are getting killed.”
“So one of the unintended consequences is people say, ‘Oh my God, you are arresting kids for marijuana that are all minorities.’ Yes, that’s true. Why? Because we put all the cops in minority neighborhoods. Yes, that’s true. Why do we do it? Because that’s where all the crime is,” he continued…. [BB: My cut]
The audio of Bloomberg’s remarks was released by Benjamin Dixon, a Bernie Sanders supporter, which in turn inspired a conspiracy theory response by CNN’s Cristina Alesci, but the real story is how Bloomberg responded: He apologized and denounced his own former policy.
Do you think that will work? If so, you are a fool. Even if Bloomberg can succeed in buying the Democratic nomination, he cannot defeat Trump in November without Obama-level black support, and his apology certainly won’t suffice to achieve that. And while I would ordinarily be willing to defend Bloomberg against the accusation of racism — “RAAAAACISM!” — his craven apology cancels my obligation to defend him.
Same here. In his original statement. Bloomberg spoke the Truth. Now, for Political Purposes, he Denounces himself.¹
This act shows a Stunning lack of Integrity — not as if we expected any from this Pandering Pimpsqueek. He has blown any chance of running on a platform of Law And Order. This former Liberal Republican turned Independent turned Democrat has shown explicitly that he will do anything to win, that he’s most definitely as Soulless as the rest.
Of course, this is not a surprise for those of us who have followed his career, but it shows that, not only is he a Pandering Pimp, but a pretty Stupid one.
A Man who doesn’t stand up for himself, is not a Real Man.
